A soft, semi-translucent green shrimp with subtle jelly-toned shading. Bred for hardiness and steady, even colour development — a lovely subtler alternative to our more saturated Green Jade line.
About Green Jelly shrimp
Green Jelly are a relaxed, low-maintenance shrimp for a planted tank, where they graze happily and multiply. They suit keepers who want green with a softer, more natural look than Green Jade.
Colour and grade
Green Jelly have a semi-translucent green body with subtle shading rather than solid colour. They look especially good under good lighting against dark substrate and wood.
Breeding Green Jelly
Keep them apart from Green Jade and other colours if you want each look to stay distinct. Crossed lines quickly lose the jelly effect.
Care and water
Neocaridina are hardy, but they need a fully cycled tank with 0 ppm ammonia and nitrite. Dechlorinated UK tap water is usually fine. They do best at 20–26°C, pH 7–7.5, GH 8–10, KH 4–6 and TDS 250–300 ppm. Keep copper out of the tank by checking plant fertilisers and medications, and feed sparingly: only what they finish in about two hours. Keep them in a shrimp-only tank or with very small, peaceful fish, as most community fish will eat shrimp. Our shrimp care checklist covers everything to do before they arrive.

Green Jelly shrimp FAQ
What’s the difference between Green Jelly and Green Jade?
Green Jade are a deep, solid green. Green Jelly are softer and partly see-through.
How many Green Jelly shrimp should I start with?
We recommend at least 10. A group settles faster, shows more natural behaviour and gives you a good mix of males and females to start a colony.
