Orange colouration meets the classic Rili pattern, giving a striking blend of vivid colour and translucent sections. Selectively bred for strong contrast and even patterning across the whole group.
About Orange Rili shrimp
Orange Rili offer the same easy care as our solid orange line, with added pattern interest. They’re a good choice for new keepers and for anyone building a varied set of colour tanks.
Colour and grade
We grade on strong contrast between the orange sections and the clear band, with even patterning across the group. Colour and pattern usually sharpen as the shrimp mature.
Breeding Orange Rili
A Rili colony produces some variation in pattern. Select your best-marked shrimp for breeding, and keep them apart from Orange Sunkist if you want to keep the pattern.
Care and water
Neocaridina are hardy, but they need a fully cycled tank with 0 ppm ammonia and nitrite. Dechlorinated UK tap water is usually fine. They do best at 20–26°C, pH 7–7.5, GH 8–10, KH 4–6 and TDS 250–300 ppm. Keep copper out of the tank by checking plant fertilisers and medications, and feed sparingly: only what they finish in about two hours. Keep them in a shrimp-only tank or with very small, peaceful fish, as most community fish will eat shrimp. Our shrimp care checklist covers everything to do before they arrive.

Orange Rili shrimp FAQ
Can Orange Rili live with Orange Sunkist?
They can share a tank safely, but they’ll cross-breed. Keep them separate if you want to breed either line pure.
How many Orange Rili shrimp should I start with?
We recommend at least 10. A group settles faster, shows more natural behaviour and gives you a good mix of males and females to start a colony.
